I must admit, your 20’s can be pretty awesome. It’s the time where do you things for the first time. You’re finally on your own. You are figuring out who you are and what you like. It’s a great time for making friends, having fun and self discovery.
Your 20’s are also full of mistakes. You’re still learning so you feel like you have all the answers, but you’re not even close. You have to work crappy jobs and/or go to college. You might still have to listen to your parents if you are still living with them even though you’re an adult.
But then you enter your 30’s and you realize that 30, is actually pretty great! All those negative things about how your body starts to ache and how you are stressed out more often due to added responsibility are true, but, here are 30 reasons why your 30’s are better than your 20’s.
- You are more confident in who you are
- You know what you like and what you don’t
- You’re not as afraid to tell people what you think
- People respect you more and listen to your advice more often
- You realize that you don’t know as much as you thought you would
- You start learning what real love is
- You have experienced different types of love from multiple sources
- You’ve learned to spend a little extra money for the good stuff that will last
- Making time for things and people you love has become a priority
- You have had a chance to explore your passions a bit
- You’ve gotten a start on your career instead of just a job
- Wine and beer become better than hard liquor
- You can’t stay out all night drinking anymore and that’s okay
- Hanging out with a few friends having a drink and great conversation is way better than taking shots with strangers
- You tend to spend your time a little more wisely
- You have at least one hobby that you enjoy
- You don’t have time or the desire to deal with unneeded drama
- You focus more on people who add value to your life
- Chances are you have at least a few people you’ve known a while who you would call close friends
- You rent a hotel when you go out of town instead of sleeping on friends couches
- You have staple wardrobe items like a little black dress or a well fitting suit
- Posters have turned into paintings
- Your home actually looks like a home
- You don’t have to clean your house, but you want to
- Household items become great gifts
- You feel more content with your body image
- You learn the value of healthy eating
- You have a better understanding of what you believe and what you don’t
- You know how important it is to take care of yourself, both mind and body
- You realize your time on earth is limited but you still have an opportunity to accomplish your goals
